"Fleet Week is a United States Navy, United States Marine Corps, and United States Coast Guard tradition in which active military ships recently deployed in overseas operations dock in a variety of major cities for one week. Once the ships dock, the crews can enter the city and visit its tourist attractions. At certain hours, the public can take a guided tour of the ships. Often, Fleet Week is accompanied by military demonstrations and air shows such as those provided by the Blue Angels." (wikipedia.com)
Although I was unable to go with him, boo :( , he did send me some pictures, when he could, of things he did and places he went. I've decided to compile some pictures into this post to show ya'll what Fleet Week is like, however; I do not have many pictures and will have more when he gets home! I will be making a part 2 to this post when he gets home and I get more pictures and hear some of his adventures! :)
But for now, here's some pictures :
The Statue of Liberty as the ship was docking.
Hubby on his first Subway ride!
Ground Zero.
More Ground Zero.
And lastly, my handsome Marine. <3
He had a GREAT time while in NYC and is currently on his way home now. Thank goodness! I was just about to go stir crazy if I had to be alone any longer then this. Cheese and rice.
Again, stay tuned for part 2 of Fleet Week as soon as he gets home!
